All Parts Welcome

All parts of you are welcome here,
exactly as you are, not as you “should” be.

Do you  feel things you don’t want to feel? Or do things you don’t want to do?

Good news!  You’re in the right place to find practical answers, real relief, and genuine spiritual connection.

Hi,
I'm Jenna

Wife, mom, author, therapist, cookie eater, yoga enthusiast and lover of people. My happy place is a sunny beach with a good book and when I’m not working you’ll find me in flip flops and a T-shirt. Chocolate-peanut butter is my definition of perfection, and I think the world would be a better place if everyone had a dog.

I’ve been on a faith journey all my life and have been most intimate with God in seasons of deep struggle and suffering. On that journey I’ve discovered grace in the most surprising places. Grace for all parts of me. And I hope you will find that here as well – grace and compassion for all parts of you. Because all of you is truly, deeply, warmly welcome here.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

is a new model of understanding human behavior that states that we are made up of a core “Self” (or God-Image), and many different parts.

HOW I CAN HELP

Internal Family Systems

is a new model of understanding human behavior that states that we are made up of a core “Self” (or God-Image), and many different parts.

Internal Family Systems Model

IFS helps us understand why we do things we don’t want to do and feel things we don’t want to feel: because we have parts at war.  And it shows us an intuitive new way to heal.  If you are looking for answers and hope, you’re in the right place!

SELF OR “IMAGO DEI”

This core essence is the Image of God at the core of every human being. It is always present, even though it often becomes obscured behind triggered parts. Self contains the 8 “C” qualities: calmness, curiosity, compassion, courage, creativity, connection, clarity and confidence.  This authentic Self is the place of our genuine connection to the divine.  Every person is born with a core Self and many different parts.

MANAGERS

These well-intentioned parts have taken on burdened roles in an attempt to proactively prevent us from feeling the pain of our exiles.  Managers take on strategies such a people-pleasing, perfectionism, control, spiritualizing, criticizing, denial and busyness.

FIREFIGHTERS

These parts have become burdened with reactive strategies to try to put out the pain of our exiles once it has been triggered.  Common firefighter strategies include drinking, eating, acting out sexually, drugging, spending, dissociating, self-harm, rage, and suicidal or homicidal ideation.

EXILES

These parts have become burdened by negative experiences and carry our painful emotions and beliefs.  They are frozen in time at their moment of burdening, so they often feel very young.  Exiles carry feelings like shame, fear, anxiety, panic, overwhelm, sadness, depression, isolation and brokenness.  They also carry negative core beliefs such as “Somethings wrong with me,” “I’m all alone,” “My feelings and needs don’t matter,” and “I’m powerless.”
